What We Collect When you use Bird Identifier, we may collect the following: Personal Data You Provide Bird photos (to identify species) Images of your bird sightings that you save Email address or account login info (if you create an account) Chat messages with our birding assistant bot Device Access Camera access (only if you allow it) Photo library access (to select images for identification) Device information (basic analytics for performance and security) We do not collect location, contacts, or payment data unless explicitly required to process a request. 2. How We Use Your Information We use your data strictly to make Bird Identifier work better for you: To identify bird species from your photos To save bird sightings to your personal collection To provide birding insights through our assistant bot To improve app performance and troubleshoot bugs To respond to your support requests Your data is not sold or rented. We only use it to power the features you interact with. 3. Third-Party Services We may use secure, vetted third-party tools to: Process your bird images and generate AI identification results Power our assistant chatbot functionality Provide analytics on app usage (e.g., crash reporting) These services are only permitted to use your data to support Bird Identifier and are contractually required to protect it. 4. Image Data Policy What We Collect: Bird Identifier uses your bird images solely for identification purposes. No personal biometric data is collected from these images. How It’s Used: Your bird images are used to provide accurate identification results. If you save sightings to your collection, only the images you choose to save are retained. Third-Party Sharing: Bird images are never sold or shared with third parties. If a third-party processor is used for identification, the image is transmitted securely and processed according to our privacy standards. Retention: Bird images are retained only during the identification process unless you explicitly save them to your collection. Users may delete any saved sightings at any time. Deleting your account removes all personal and image data permanently. Storage Location: Images may be temporarily processed on secure servers but are not retained beyond processing unless saved by the user. 5. Data Security We use encryption, secure servers, and technical safeguards to protect your data. While no method is 100% secure, we actively monitor and protect against unauthorized access. 6. Your Rights You control your data. Do-Not-Track (DNT) Bird Identifier does not currently respond to DNT browser signals due to the absence of a consistent industry standard. 8.
